BRELUDI TRAY

L.A.P. III BASE – GROUP B - Day 2036

Ah, finally back at base. What a day it’s been! Our Group B just finished harvesting our first batch of Lunar Potatoes, or LUPOs as we affectionately call them. It’s funny how the little things can bring such excitement nowadays. As I hang my helmet on its hook and neatly tuck away my shoes, I can’t help but revel in the sensation of soft carpet underfoot. There’s something about it that just soothes the soul after a long day’s work.

Heading over to my trusty mini kitchen console, I grab a cup, fill it with water, and carefully place my LUPOs inside. A quick spin in the microwave and they’ll be good to go – ah, the wonders of “modern” technology never cease to amaze me.

Humming along softly to Frank Sinatra’s “That’s Life” playing in the background, I steal a moment to gaze out the window at the vast lunar landscape stretching before me. Now, onto mealtime. I pull out my BRELUDI Tray, conveniently labeled for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It’s the epitome of simplicity, reminding me of life’s basic pleasures. Everything neatly laid out, everything in its place.

And then there are my trusty chopsticks – a timeless relic that still outshines the fancier Western utensils. Why complicate things with forks and knives when two sticks and a spoon do the trick just fine?

Unfurling my Parachute Bowl, it’s become second nature now. Just pop it open, hang it on its support sticks, and voila – instant dining setup. It’s these little design quirks that bring a surprising amount of comfort to my daily routine, grounding me in the midst of lunar solitude
.

The Breludi Tray draws inspiration from the food trays used during Moon Expeditions in the Apollo missions.
Specifically designed for compact Luna Domes, where space-saving is essential, this tray facilitates quick transitions between plate and bowl configurations. Crafted by grinding leftover lava stone into a powder and combining it with resin, the tray is then molded into its final form. Its ergonomic design allows for easy storage and stacking, while its tactile and visual qualities evoke the rugged surface of the moon.

Instructions:

1) Remove the four Bowl Sticks from their storage.

2) Insert the sticks into the designated holes.

3) Retrieve the Parachute Bowl.

4) Unfold the Parachute Bowl and position it with the openings aligned with the sticks.

5) Utilize the slits on the sticks to securely hold the Parachute Bowl in place.
